IMPROV SOLO

• This category is open to all ages and divisions.

• All disciplines compete against one another.

• 30 minutes prior to the start of this category, the contestants will meet with a DP Team member in a designated area.

• At this time the contestants, will listen to a selection of THREE (3) songs.

• Contestants will choose ONE (1) of the songs and decide the style of dance they wish to perform (i.e., bring all of your shoes!)

• Dancers will have 10 minutes to prepare their routine.

• Contestants will wait in a separate designated area so that they are not able to hear/see the other contestants perform.

Note: Changes to the solo disciplines will not be accepted during the competition. A minimum of three entries (in an age group) are required for the student choreography categories to be held. *This solo cannot be entered in the regular competition as well as this category.
