Enjoy an immersive weekend of dance in the beauty and luxury of The Westin Resort & Spa Whistler. Get swept up in the energy by four days of competition, and pamper yourself in one of Canada’s most incredible locations.
This group-focussed competition will draw like-minded dancers from across western Canada to show judges their best. Designed to spark energy, “Power Surges”, will be spontaneously awarded throughout the competition to recognize routines that capture a judge’s heart.

Power Element Solos
POWER MAX SOLO
• This category is open to all ages and divisions.
• Dancers will enter ONE solo in the category.
• All disciplines compete against one another.
• The winner of the POWER MAX Solo category will receive a cash prize of $500!
• The winner of the Power Max Solo will be invited to perform in the Power Max Showdown on Sunday.
IMPROV SOLO
• This category is open to all ages and divisions.
• All disciplines compete against one another.
• 30 minutes prior to the start of this category, the contestants will meet with a DP Team member in a designated area.
• At this time the contestants, will listen to a selection of THREE (3) songs.
• Contestants will choose ONE (1) of the songs and decide the style of dance they wish to perform (i.e., bring all of your shoes!)
• Dancers will have 10 minutes to prepare their routine.
• Contestants will wait in a pod backstage with noise cancelling headphones (or a separate designated area), so that they are not able to hear/see the other contestants perform.
• The winner of the IMPROV Solo category will receive a cash prize of $250
STUDENT CHOREOGRAPHY SOLO
• This category is open to all ages and divisions.
• All disciplines compete against one another.
• With the above exception, the definition for this solo is the same as the Student Choreography Solo currently at Dance Power.
