Writers

Dance Power requires 3 writers in each city that we tour to. Writers must reside in the immediate vicinity of each regional competition and cannot be affiliated with any participating dance studio. They should have experience in tap, ballet and jazz and/or know the terminology for those disciplines. Former dancers whom are currently attending university or college are encouraged to apply. Legible penmanship and the ability to work long hours are important. Please email writers@dancepower.com with your resume and dance experience.

Salespeople

We are looking for 2 individuals who are interested in touring with us for the 2008 season. Due to the long hours and travel involved we normally hire for either the March/April cities or the May cities. A dance background is essential and preference is given to individuals with some retail experience. We offer competitive wages, a fun atmosphere and a good working environment. Applicants must be willing to travel, work long hours and be a team player.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Sales of merchandise including clothing, programs and promo items
    Front-line contact with all of our clients including students, parents, teachers, owners, etc. to assist and provide information as needed
  • Completion of daily cash summary sheets, inventory counts, loading/unloading of equipment and merchandise (with some heavy lifting) and the setup and takedown of all equipment and stock in the merchandise areas
  • In addition, the individual will  assist in all aspects of the operations of the competitions as directed.

All flights, accommodations (shared), meals, etc. are provided by Dance Power.

Tabulator

During the month of May, we are looking for 1 individual with a dance background that is proficient at data entry and has experience with computers (Macintosh OS X preferable) and some experience using a database program (preferably FileMaker Pro). Duties include but are not limited to:
Data entry of all scores into the computer, printing out reports including session awards, daily high mark results, final awards, final awards cheques, etc. This person is also responsible for bagging the medals for awards presentations. The ability to work autonomously and efficiently is essential to the position. We offer competitive wages, a fun atmosphere and a good working environment. Applicants must be willing to travel, work long hours and be a team player. Duties also include loading/unloading of equipment and merchandise  (with some heavy lifting) and the setup and takedown of all equipment. In addition, the individual will assist with all aspects of the operations of the competitions as directed. All flights, accommodations (single or may be shared), meals, etc. are provided by Dance Power.
